Isle of Lewis Chessmen Replica build 

After about two years of toil. I'm stoked to finally show this project off! 

Isle or Lewis chessmen are arguably the most famous chess pieces in the world. Dating back to the 12th century. Originally carved out of walrus ivory. They've appeared film and television in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, the Walking Dead and the Queen's Gambit. 

The pieces are replicas of Isle of Lewis chessmen. Cast from poly-stone resin, the red dyed with scarlet iDye Poly and the white aged with Citadel Seraphim.

Working with a master wood-craftsman Ian McPherson to produce a prototype chessboard to accompany my resin cast pieces♟️.

Which is made from maple 🍁 and walnut 🌰.

I'm just waiting on my felt adhesive for the bottoms of the chess pieces to add the finishing touches. 

Ian and I are currently planning our next stages out, to hopefully find a place to display them and create a few more sets.
